Moving day

April 29th, 2002

We had a hectic weekend. J&T moved this weekend and we were in the thick of things. *laugh* The kidlet had the most wonderful weekend ever and was so exhausted he slept until 0830 today.

Saturday morning we were up early and got to Upplands Väsby just after 0900. They were in the process of packing up the two trailers when we arrived, farfar was already there. Once the trailers were loaded, J and farfar headed out to unload at the new place, my fellow headed off to a meeting he had committed to prior to the choosing of moving day and the kidlet and I stayed with T at the old apartment. We did laundry, shopped for a few things and had lunch, then I started wiping out cupboards and windows while she organized the remaining boxes and packed the last things. The kidlet played around and was really quite good. He climbed in and out of closets and cupboards and thoroughly enjoyed himself. The new house is in a little town near Katrineholm, a two hour drive away, so by the time the men drove down, J unloaded and then drove back, it was close to 1600. My fellow and farmor had arrived by then and while the guys loaded the big furniture items, we gathered up the odds and ends (electrical cords, curtain rods etc) and then as each room was emptied, it was vacuumed and scrubbed. Since it was obvious we were not going to come home after the final unloading at the house, farmor and I drove back to Märsta and I packed clothes, bedding and got the dog to take with us. We were done and headed out from the old place about 2100. The kidlet slept in the car and we made the trip in drizzling rain. With stops to drop off old keys and to pick up a couple things at the store, it was 2330 when we arrived at the new house. Unloading only took 30 minutes. We got the kidlet into pj’s and made up beds. He was first a bit timid about the place but then decided it was cool and he ran with the dog for most of the time we were unpacking.

They bought an old church and it is big and really a nice place. The rooms are all large, and there are things like an opening from the kitchen with sliding panels for serving out things and one of those folding panel walls between the room where services were conducted and the smaller room that was likely a sunday school room. Both were completely fascinating to our curious little boy. We had coffee and a snack before we all headed off to bed about 0100. We had set a mattress out for the kidlet with his own blanket and pillow from home, but he was not really sure about sleeping there, so he ended up with us. *laugh* We woke about 0830 and just relaxed for a bit before having some breakfast. J&T were gone to return the trailer when we woke but arrived back around 1100. We chatted and put together a couch, then went to see J’s new workplace. It was really nice, a cool classroom and a nice office. The school itself is really big. After a late lunch we headed home. The trip home was lovely. Since the trip out was in the night, I hadn’t seen any of the scenery. So I enjoyed it going home. We arrived back to Märsta about 1800 and went to farmor and farfar’s to switch cars, since we had traded the night before. We had dinner there and got home after 2000. I called to Canada to talk to my aunt at my grandparents but I missed her by minutes. While I talked to them, my fellow got the kidlet into pj’s and he was so tired, he went to bed by himself. When I hung up, he called me to come in and read to him. He was just so exhausted, but since he had slept in the car the entire trip home, he was not sleepy .. poor little guy. After a couple of stories he settled.

I had planned to call my aunt after, was waiting for her to have time to get home from her parents, but we were wiped and went to bed early. It was still hard to get up this morning, but the extra sleep was nice.

Today I have to drop off our tax forms at city hall and do some shopping. My aunt will be here in 10 days, so I need to finish cleaning closets and such.

Here comes the weekend!

April 26th, 2002

We went out to the sandbox yesterday afternoon and were there until almost 1900. When we came in my headache was still there and as I was growling about it, I remembered that I had Tylenol Sinus that my brother sent. One of those solved the problem within an hour. There is a young couple who moved in across from us recently and they have an Afghan. The kidlet calls him “storhund” and of course the couple are “storhund mamma” and “storhund pappa”. *laugh* Yesterday we saw the dog and talked to both the people, at different times. I have spoken to him before, since we dog people meet up all the time when we are out walking them, but have never spoken to her. So we talked a bit and found out that “storhund” is named Kramer. It is nice to get to know more of our neighbours here.

This morning when the alarm went off at 0700, it was out noised by the sound from the tv and the accompanying laughter of a little boy. I have no idea what time he got out of bed, but he was watching tv and drinking saft. He couldn’t find the remote to turn down the volume so he just watched it loud. *laugh* After my fellow headed to work, I boxed up a couple things that I have had here since just after New Years, to send off to Stacey and finished off the postcards I had to send out. Including the ones I sent in envelopes to Shauna and Kelly, I mailed off almost 100 postcards yesterday and today.

My fellow gave the kidlet MacDonalds money this morning before he left. So once I made beds and straightened up, we headed to the post office and then took the bus to the station where we went on to Stockholm. All the way there on the train he told me what he was going to order. *laugh* I shopped a bit first and then we went to eat. I held him up at the counter and he ordered his milk shake, cheeseburger and fries. The girl taking the order was really good and understood the first two but was not quite sure about the fries and doubled checked with me if it was pomme frites he was saying. Then he paid and got his change and was one happy camper. Once lunch was done we went on to Hässelby. Since J&T are moving this weekend and we are helping, I wanted to get the cleaning done early. It went well and I went in a bit early to do some extras so that I can do quick cleaning while my aunt is here.

We got back home at 1900 and my fellow met us at the station and then we went and picked up pizza for dinner. There was a thank you note on the door when we got home, from the girl we gave the cat climber to. Her cats love it. *laugh* The kidlet went to bed without a peep and now I am relaxing and going to go and read more of this book that sent. It is called “Fiddleback” by J.M. Morris and has had me transfixed since this morning. It was hard to put it aside and actually work. *laugh*

Sunshine day!

April 25th, 2002

It is one lovely day here. The temperature was 23C this morning when we were at öppna förskolan. We spent the morning out in the sun, letting the kids play in the sand box and with the tennis raquets, lacrosse sticks and soccer balls. We moms sat and drank coffee and chatted. After playgroup we went shopping at the centrum for a few food staples and then took the dog for a nice long walk and run in the sun as well. The only thing marring the day is this headache I woke with. It feels pre-migraine and I am babying myself a bit so it does not progress to migraine. I had planned to clean windows today but will put it on hold I think. Instead we are going back outside and while the kidlet plays in the sand, I will start reading one of the Ruth Rendell books Lori sent.

Yesterday I was productive so I won’t feel guilty taking today for relaxing. We went to playgroup for 3 1/2 hours, walked the dog, washed all the blankets, pillows, scatter rugs and runner rugs and assorted stuffed animals (someone was worried the entire time Pooh was getting washed and hugged him close when he came out of the dryer *laugh*). We also made 3 trips to the paper recycling bin, 2 trips to the garbage skip and 2 trips to the storage room to put stuff away there. In between I did dishes, vacuumed everywhere and went out to play in the sandbox for an hour. (well I read, kidlet played) When I was taking the cat scratching post down to the storage room, a woman came by and asked if I was interested in selling it. I said I would ask my fellow. I would have handed it over on the spot, since her cats might as well enjoy it, but that would have been mighty unfair to the other half of the household here. *smile* So I asked his opinion and he felt the same way, it isn’t doing anything but taking up room downstairs so he said to let her know if she wants it, she can have it. Will drop over to her apartment in a bit. Now it is time to go and read some in the sun. *smile*

Weekend Update

April 23rd, 2002

Wow, SNL! I had this vision of Jane Curtain and Dan Ackroyd flash before my eyes when I wrote that. *laugh*

We had a lovely weekend and the weather was just perfect. Friday night we didn’t do anything at all, just relaxed. Saturday morning I was up at 0600, did some dishes and repaired an old pair of jeans for my fellow to wear to work on the car. His mom picked me up at 0930 and the two of us went clothes shopping. We went to Uppsala and were at IKEA when they opened. *laugh* From there we went to look at shoes (I was literally down to one pair of sneakers here and they just don’t go well with a dress *grin*), I ended up buying 3 pairs, open toed blue leather sandals with cork platform heels, black flats and a nice pair of black fabric heels for dress up. We went on to Granby centrum and there I bought an all weather coat. The one I had was 10 years old and I knew it would not see another season last fall when I switched to my winter coat. The one I bought is black, shiny with cool buttons and big pockets. We looked in tons of stores there and I also picked up two good quality tees to wear with my denim skirt, one pastel yellow and one pastel blue. By then it was after noon and the centrum had become a mad house, so we headed off to LP Varuhuset and then Rimi. Bought some odds and ends there, soap, shampoo, taco dinner mix, nutella etc. We got home about 1400 and called the men to see how things were going with them. My fellow, his dad and the kidlet had gone to do work on our car, oil change, filter change and all those little detail things that need to be done to keep the car running. The kidlet thought his day doing “guy stuff” was just great. We had dinner at farmor and farfars. J & T came there also, so it was a nice family night.

Sunday we slept in, shopped and went out to dinner. We went to IKEA in Barkarby looking for a fold out bed for when my aunt comes to visit. Our cot is fine but I saw one that I thought would be more comfortable so we went in search of it. They no longer had them though so the cot will have to do, since the next option is buying a sofa bed and we have no room for one of those. We had a lovely sightseeing drive and then went to MAX for dinner. We called my grandparents when we got home and they got to talk to the kidlet for a change. (usually he is asleep when I call) The kidlet thought it was a wonderful day and told me so when I tucked him in.

Monday my fellow had the day off work, so he came with us to öppna förskolan. He isn’t a fan of that, since spending his Monday off listening to a bunch of yelling kids is not on his top ten list. But there was only one other mom there, the woman from Somalia. So the kidlet got to paint and draw with dad and then they sat and played Labyrinth and Tiddly-winks. We came home, had lunch and just sat around enjoying the sun and warm for the rest of the day. It was a bonus tv night, ER at 2000 and The Practice at 2100. Then I called my aunt and we talked about her upcoming trip over and the preparations for it. She will be on her way over in just 15 days. *smile*

This morning it was raining and I was thinking about Beverly when I saw the rain. *smile* We had to take our umbrellas to öppna förskolan with us (even though it is so close no rain would have time to fall on us walking there *laugh*). Now I am doing laundry and will soon start dinner.

Sunny Thursday

April 18th, 2002

Wednesday was a funny day. The kidlet slept until after 1000 (he who is always up between 0700 and 0730). He woke wet, with a fever and a barky cough. He was upset that someone peed in his bed (of course it couldn’t have been him *laugh*). After a quick bath, he snuggled up in pappa’s chair under a blanket, watched tv, read and drew pictures. He also got out his prized possession, a 4×6 piece of paper that one of the women at the post office stamped with the postmark stamp and affixed an “economy brev” sticker to. He has had it for months and gets it out regularly. Well yesterday he took it and a page of stickers and made a card for his faster. He then placed it in an envelope, addressed it, added a 2 kr stamp, placed it in a ziploc bag and stapled it shut. *laugh* After dinner we drove over to farmor and farfar’s and he gave his aunt her card. Today he is fine again, no fever, no cough. We went to öppna förskolan and it was a bonus day since one of his friends turned 4 today and we had a party with ice cream and balloons.

The package arrived yesterday at lunch time. It was from Lori and what a treat it was. There were 4 books:
Fiddleback by J.M. Morris
The Veiled One by Ruth Rendall (one of my favourite authors)
Road Rage by Ruth Rendell
Pure Dead Magic by Debi Gliori (with a very pettable purple velvet cover *smile*)

Also inside there was a book of 30 lovely Renaissance Art postcards, the cutest pair of black cat earrings with ruby red eyes, a nice card with a sweet note and the kidlets favourite part, a bag of candy. He spotted the bag as soon as the box was open and kept saying “mamma, godis!” while I was reading book titles. It was a wonderful package, thank you so much Lori! *huggles*

In the mail there were two birthday cards as well. One from Elizabeth that was hilarious and priceless. It also had a SWAK sticker on the back of the envelope. Oddly enough, my fellow asked me about the SWAK craze in the 60’s and I had no recollection of ever seeing a letter with that on the back. So it was funny to show him the sticker. Thank you so much! The other was from Mary a really pretty card that has that “rich” feel when I touch it. Thank you!

My fellow and I were discussing parenting recently and an incident at the vets office made me think of that discussion this week. We took the cat for his shots and when we went in to the waiting room at the clinic, the kidlet did his usual inventory of the room. One of the many things he pointed out was a container of cookies on the table. About 15 minutes later another couple came in with a child who looked to be the same age as our kidlet. That child went straight to the table, grabbed up the container of cookies and started yelling to his dad to open them NOW. The father was talking to the mom and just took the container, opened it and handed it back with no thought at all. We went in with the cat then and when we came out we had to wait a few minutes while the vet assistant looked for info on groomers for the dog. That was when our kidlet tugged on my sleeve and asked if he could please have a cookie. I said yes and he went and took one. A second cookie was stuck to it and he put that one back. The other father said “oh go ahead and take two” and the kidlet said no, he would have one thank you. The contrast really stuck in my brain.

He is far from a perfect child but we have always, from the time he was born, been consistent in our method of parenting. I believe that you must teach your child right from wrong and proper manners and respect from the very beginning, both by example and by setting boundaries from the start. It seems from what I see here (and saw in Canada as well) is many parents don’t “parent” when their children are preschool age, because they think the kids are “too young” to understand rules. But who is the one who suffers in the end? A child raised as our kidlet is, to understand and respect rules from the start or the one who gets his/her way for 5 or 6 years and then suddenly discovers that there are rules to follow
and can’t understand why the world suddenly changed?

Recently I read a discussion about the no spanking law in Sweden and how it was the reason for out of control children who have no regard for rules. I don’t think that is the reason at all. In my inexpert opinion, I think it is lack of parenting that leads to problems and parenting does not have to include spanking. So saying that not spanking = bad kids, is really not true. I hope that 20 years from now I am not going to be looking back and realizing that we did it all wrong. *laugh*

Lucky day!

April 16th, 2002

At Easter time my fellow bought me a Bingo Lotto ticket. I watched the show and scratched the silver and bronze cards but then I took the dog out and missed the gold card part. Today I came across it as I was looking through clutter and decided to check online if I had won. Yepp, 500 SEK. Now that is a real bonus for cleaning up. *laugh* So off I went and cashed it in and retrieved the pictures I had waiting for me, the ones from the kidlets 3rd birthday and still have 400 left. So I am going to send off a couple packages that have been sitting here for weeks as well as some postcards.

When I got back from the centrum, the mail was here and there was a card in the mail from Schenker AB telling me they have a package for me and I needed to call. Well it will be delivered tomorrow. I am so excited, packages are so much fun. So it has been a wonderful day of surprises.

Laundry is done as well as dishes. Spoke to my fellows’ mom on the phone and we are going to do our shopping expedition this coming weekend, since I was too sick last weekend. We are also going to look at pull out beds, since I want a good one for when my aunt comes next month.

I am guessing the package is from Lori and can hardly wait for it to be delivered! *smile*

Here we are again

April 16th, 2002

The weekend is over and a new week has started. Time really does fly.

Friday we ran to the centrum for a few things. I had planned on going to work but picked up a flu bug and so I passed on the 90 minute trip with a distinct lack of bathroom facilities. *laugh* My fellow worked a late shift, 1300-2100 and brought his sister home to spend the night here. She is doing 2 weeks work experience at his workplace. Kind of a cool idea. I made them tacos for dinner, had a shower and went to bed. Didn’t last so long there though, with the queasy stomach, so I was up and down most of the night.

Saturday I slept between trips to visit the bathroom and the kidlet got to have dad entertain him. Finally got up about 1800 and made dinner for the guys. Sunday I slept until noon and while I had no plans of going to work, I got ticked at my fellow and left in a huff with the kidlet about 1300. We did the cleaning and J&T came and met us at work and brought us back home. We were both still grumpy and it was not the happiest evening here.

Monday we went to öppna förskolan, I cleaned some and then we all went grocery shopping when my fellow got off work. I still am not feeling well but have decided it is not viral, it is just stress. Yesterday they cleaned up the walkways here and the kidlet watched the funny tractor (street sweeper type) cleaning up all the stones that get put down in the winter. He thought it was cool and remembered we had seen them doing the same a couple weeks ago in Stockholm.

Laundry day again today and I am off to do dishes. I cleaned out cupboards and the fridge and freezer yesterday so I think I will tackle the computer desk and bookshelf clutter today.

Thursday already?

April 11th, 2002

Yesterday was a nice birthday. I got up and made my fellows’ breakfast and packed his lunch. Dug out clean clothes for him while he was in the shower. (hadn’t put the laundry away yet *laugh*) So I was all expectant on hearing a “Happy Birthday” from him. Silly me. *laugh* You would think after all these years I would just give up and realize it just isn’t his way to do that. So off he went to work and I was feeling a bit sad and then checked my email. Wow!! There were birthday greetings and ecards to pick up from family and friends. Then the phone rang and it was Aunt Maud, getting up at her usual 0200 to call me before we might head out for the day. She had birthday wishes for me and then we talked about her upcoming visit and what she will bring over with her. It was nice and made the day seem more like a birthday.

We got ready and met Marilyn and David at the bus stop at the centrum. Since we were going to walk home from Eurostop I made a big concession and took the umbrella stroller with us. It was the first time I have taken it out in months. The kidlet is big enough to walk most places and he listens well enough that I don’t worry about him when we are out. So we got to the bus and David was in his stroller, so the kidlet had to “sitta” too. The bus drivers know him, since he chats with them when we get on the bus. This time we got on at the back door instead and the driver leaned around to wave at the kidlet. *laugh* We went to MacDonalds and the boys played in the play area with all the plastic balls. We headed out for home about 1130 and got back here just past 1330. What would normally take 45 minutes took much longer with two toddlers walking and exploring along the way. *smile* It was fun and a beautiful warm sunny day.

Just as we got to the outer door of the building, my phone beeped to let me know there was a message on the home phone. I hurried in and it was my sister calling to wish me happy birthday. So I called her right back and we talked for a few minutes. Checked here and saw so many wonderful birthday greetings! Thank you all for the smiles you generated.

We had lunch and I baked a chocolate cake. The kidlet kept checking in the oven to see if it was ready. When I took it out, he thought we should eat it right away and was some sad when I said we had to wait until after dinner. I did have to cut off a bit to level it before icing it, so he got to eat that part. After it was iced he was just fascinated by it. I put dinner on the table and as I was passing the cake plate, noticed little chocolate finger prints along the edge of the plate. *laugh* I told the kidlet he was definitely his morfars’ grandson. My dad always picked the cake, no matter where or what occasion. It was his signature. *laugh*

After dinner my fellow cleared the table and the kidlet and I worked our way through a scratch Bingo ticket that came in the package from my brother and his family. Then we played some before my fellows’ family came over. They brought two kinds of ice cream cakes and two roll type cakes and presents. *smile* I got a lovely plant with red flowers in a really pretty deep blue pot (it is artificial, so I can’t kill this one *laugh*) and the cutest big fat ceramic cat. I love it. We had coffee, cake and ice cream and a nice visit. Just as a topper to a nice day, The Birds was on tv. I love that movie and even passed up watching Third Watch so I could see it. I was so tired when I got to bed that I don’t remember past pulling up the blanket. *laugh*

This morning we went to öppna förskolan and even though we were invited to go bike riding with David and his mom, I declined since I had household chores waiting. As I was getting ready to come home, I got dizzy and by the time we did the 2 minute walk home I was so dizzy I was sick to my stomach. An hour later I still was throwing up every time I stood up, so I took some Gravol. It is better now, but boy am I tired. *laugh* No worry of sleeping though, the kidlet is talking non stop at me as I am typing. *laugh* Think this will be an early night though.

Busy Tuesday

April 9th, 2002

It has been a scatterbrained day today. *laugh* I slept in and my fellow let me. I woke after 0800 when the kidlet rode his tricycle into the bedroom and honked the horn in my ear. Nice way to wake up it wasn’t. So I scrambled to make his breakfast and my tea, made beds, picked up and put water in to soak the dishes in the sink. Then got the two of dressed and out to meet my fellow a bit past 1000. I was organized until he asked me to bring his PERL book and then I scrambled to find it. Of course it was in none of the tucked away spots I searched, it was on the bookshelf beside the computers. *laugh* So out the door went kidlet, mom, book and dead cat. We took her to the animal clinic and they will cremate her. I made appointments for the other pets to have their vaccinations updated next week. It was all very discreet and the kidlet had no idea that the box we carried in and handed over contained his cat. But on the way out didn’t we walk into a man bringing in his dead labrador retriever. I got the kidlet steered in a different direction.

Off we went to the centrum and I finally dropped off the film from the kidlets’ birthday 6 months ago. Renewed my membership at the video store and we went to shop for “flinstones”. The kidlet has decided these Flintsone chocolate bars are the best ever candy and asks every day if we can buy some. This morning while I was asleep he discovered the 20 kronor note in his egg from farmor and farfar and wanted to go to the store immediately. Then pappa gave him another 20 in the car when he dropped he us at the vets. So we got 3 flintstones and a big smarties with tigger on the top. He even got 10 kronors back.

Next up was the bus to the train station and we headed into Stockholm to pick up Girl Guide cookies. We were to meet Rebecca at 1245 in front of Lush. We were early and after removing an annoying pebble from my boot, we walked around the Central station. Silly me, I forgot MacDonalds was on that level. So of course we had to go in to get a milk shake, the kidlets’ new passion. Naturally he wanted pomme frites and an ostburgare with the shake. So where did he learn to call them that? I always say fries and cheeseburger. *laugh* He of course poked along with his food as I watched the clock anxiously. Finally I wrapped up his burger, tossed the last of the fries and made him carry his shake so we could make our appointed time. We walked right past the people we were to meet. *laugh* I did say scatterbrained. So Rebecca handed over 6 boxes of girl guide cookies and I am all ready for a very happy birthday now. *grin* One of the women with her said she knew me and that really threw me for a loop. I looked really close but did not know who she was. So she told me her name and said she was from livejournal. I was thinking in my head “I know 3 people with that name” and right away I ruled out that it could be Jennifer because I have seen her pic with that cute short hair and the girl I met had the loveliest long hair I have ever seen. I am sure she thought I was so rude, but really I was just flustered. *laugh* So all the way home I kept thinking about it and then when I got here I popped online and looked and boy what a dolt I am, it was her. Her hair in her picture isn’t short at all. *laugh* Then I felt really bad because I have been wanting to meet her for ever so long and was totally goofy when I finally did. So Jennifer please accept my apology and I hope we can get together one day soon when it isn’t a mad rush kind of day. *smile*

We got the train home and then hopped on the bus and were back here in time for my 1400 laundry time. So I have clothes washing and the rest in piles on the floor. The dishes are half washed and I stopped for a quick cup of tea before I finish them and vacuum.

Today in the mail I got a wonderful surprise, an envelope full of birthday surprises from Shauna. She sent another of her lovely handmade bookmarks, a beautiful handmade birthday card in a really pretty handpainted envelope and 10 gorgeous art postcards, one of which was Monets’ Water Lily Pond, a favourite of mine. Thank you Shauna, what a lovely unexpected birthday gift this was!

A new week

April 8th, 2002

We had a great time when we went out on Thursday. We met up with a bunch at a bar and then all went on to a restaurant for tex-mex. I drank too much wine, since I rarely ever drink alcohol, it doesn’t take much to make me giddy. *laugh* We got home about midnight and I slept in Friday since I was kidless. I had no trouble at all following the conversation at dinner but as soon as someone actually addressed me with a question I got tongue tied. I do hope the day will come when I can answer in swedish without looking like a boob. *smile*

The kidlet spent the day with his grandfather and aunt. They shopped and went to MacDonalds. He had lots of fun but about 1830 he was ready to come home and asked to phone. He then asked his father if he was waiting for the kidlet. *laugh* I guess he was checking he was missed. I just relaxed for the day and even took a nap in the afternoon. It was nice.

Saturday my fellow left early in the morning for a political conference. He was away the whole weekend. We went shopping with farmor in the morning and got the kidlet new rain boots and running shoes. I looked for shoes and a spring coat but couldn’t find anything I liked. We got home about 1400 and had lunch then went and got pizza for dinner and rented some movies. The kidlet got a Pooh movie that said on the box was dubbed in swedish. It was in english though, which was fine since he understands it. We also watched the Sound of Music and he really liked the singing. He was up in the night complaining of a tummy ache but I think he really was just missing his dad. I spoke with my sister and my brother Saturday night. The news from home was that my aunt has booked her flight for Sweden for May 8th, hooray! The other news was that my cousin got hit by a car on his way from work Friday night. He was bruised and sore but was a lucky man that nothing was broken and he did not hit his head. He has a shunt in his head and has many problems over the years from it. The driver who hit him did stop and come back to where my cousin landed after being hit. He got an ambulance and stayed with Jon. It was quite a scare for my grandparents when the police came to the house to tell them about the accident. He was discharged from the hospital after xrays and exams showed no major injuries.

Sunday we headed off to work early and since there was no school last week, it didn’t take long to clean. We headed back to Stockholm central station and I went to Lush and got some bath bombs. Then we went and had Pizza Hut for late lunch. We were home before 1600 and watched the Pooh movie again. I let the cat out when we got home since she was an outside cat before we adopted her and needs her out time every day. My fellow got home about 1700 and the kidlet made him dinner. For some reason he took the notion he should and told me all day he was cooking dinner for pappa. So he made hot dogs. *laugh* After dinner someone called to tell us that our cat had been hit by a car and was dead. I was heartbroken and still haven’t broken the news to the kidlet. He hasn’t missed her yet, since he went to bed shortly after the phone call and has not yet looked for her today. Needless to say I had a bad night, with nightmares about her and how she looked when I retrieved her body from the side of the road. It was a kind thing that man did, taking her collar and calling us to let us know what happened to her. Tonight I am going to go shopping with my fellows’ mom in Uppsala. We are both on a shoe hunt. *laugh*
